What personal data we collect and why…

Comments:

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media:

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms & Cookies:

If you are kind enough to leave us a comment, you may opt-in to us saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Analytics are strictly for our personal use to monitor our the web traffic.  We do not share this data.

Who we share your data with:

It is not our intention to ever share your data for any reason. What we collect is for in house use only for us to monitor our site and for us to contact you back.

How long we retain your data:

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data:

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We keep this data in order to respond better and to also send you different offers, newsletters and more.  You always have the option to opt out of this, but we automatically save your contact information from any comments, contact forms and any other item you may fill out on our site.

What data breach procedures we have in place:

In the unlikely event of a data breach, there are several procedures in place.  In the scenario of a breach, we will inform those whom were effected by the breach within five days of the event.  We will disclose what happened, how it effected you, what we have done to resolve the issue and how we will be preventing this for the future. 
In the event of a large data breach, we will go public within 48 hours of a breach.  We will keep the public informed as to what we are doing in the midst of the investigation, how it has impacted our customers and what we are doing to resolve this issue.  We will also inform the public when the breach has been secured and we have regained control.  We will also inform our clients on how we plan to keep their information safe from future attacks.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data:

We automatically store your contact information after you fill out any form that has required those elements.  This remains true unless you opt out of us retaining your data at the time of sending in any form with your information.
